Irvin Bert "Sonny" Frazier

Irvin Bert “Sonny” Frazier was born on October 11, 1954, in Naturita, CO, delivered in the back of his father’s car at Billy Creek Ranger Station. He was the son of Ellie Roger and Nettie Rose (Finch) Frazier. On Saturday, March 12, 2022, he passed away at his home in Dove Creek, CO, at the age of 67.

Irvin was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, Roger Frazier. Surviving Irvin is his brother, Robert Frazier of Dove Creek, CO, his nieces and nephew, numerous great-nieces and nephews, a great-great nephew, and a host of friends and admirers.

An avid outdoorsman and hunter, Sonny always enjoyed the wilds of Colorado. Sonny spent most of his adult life in service to the town he called home, Dove Creek. Whether it was as a member of the town board, mayor, or his many years as the Town Manager, he always worked toward his community’s wellbeing and vitality. Sonny was unapologetically straightforward in his daily life but was always there if his family or friends needed him. He will be missed by many and never replaced.
