Ila June Hazen

ILA JUNE HAZEN Ila June Hazen passed away at The Mancos Valley Inn on Saturday, June 24th at 12:05 am, at the age of 97. Ila was born June 9, 1920, in Fort Benton, Montana, to Mary and James Grant. She was one of 6 children. She grew up on a ranch and rode in a covered wagon when they moved to other homes. She married Frank Olson Jr. in August of 1939. To this union three children were born; James, Norman and Karen. Frank and Ila moved to Cortez, CO, in 1948. Ila was a homemaker and Frank worked for the Rural Electrification Administration (REA) for many years. Frank passed away in 1972. Ila later remarried Art Hazen, who has also since passed away. Ila loved God, family, friends, music and oil painting. She shared many of her paintings with family and friends. Ila's siblings, husbands and one infant child, Norman, preceded her in death. Surviving Ila are her Son, James Olson, Daughter, Karen Robb, Grandchildren, James Olson, Lisa Olson, Quinton Tyler, Troy Tyler and Colette Mayers, Seven Great Grandchildren and several Great Great Grandchildren. We will miss her quick wit and her beautiful smile.
