HOWARD DWANE PARKER Graveside services for former area resident and current Houston, Tex. resident Howard Dwane Parker will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, October 3 at Dove Creek Cemetery. Visitation has been scheduled for Saturday from noon to 1 p.m. at Dove Creek First Baptist Church. Howard passed away on Friday, September 25, 2009 at the Atrium Medical Center in Stafford, Tex. at the age of 71. He was born January 20, 1938 in Dove Creek, Colorado, the son of Henry and Erma (Fink) Parker. Mr. Parker graduated from Flagstaff High School in Flagstaff, Ariz. and from Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff. He then worked for Todd Ship Yard in San Pedro, Calif., the San Diego Naval Base, and owned several small businesses. He was a Boy Scout Troop Leader and active member of the Boy Scouts Los Angeles Area Council Pacifica District. Mr. Parker enjoyed fishing, camping, woodwork, and arts and craft works. Howard was preceded in death by his brother, Ronald Parker. Howard leaves his sons, Donald Parker (Linda) of Texas, John Parker of Pennsylvania, Dennis Parker (Barb) of Arkansas, and Joseph Parker of South Carolina; his brothers, Darrold Parker (Joy) of Mesa, Ariz., Roy Parker (Tina) of Baker, Flo., Stan Parker of Phoenix, Ariz., Rick Parker (Laura) of Flagstaff, Ariz.; his sisters, Dorothy Parker of Cottonwood, Ariz., and Pola Stradling (Allen) of Cornville, Ariz.; and ten grandchildren.
