HOMER TOM Funeral services for Homer Tom, a lifelong resident of Towaoc will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 11 at the Towaoc Recreation Center. Interment will follow at the Towaoc Cemetery. A Wake service will be held Monday evening at 5 p.m. at 1401 Lafayette in Towaoc. Homer was born to Harry Tom and Jane Browning on January 25, 1913 at McElmo, Colo. He passed away at Vista Grande Nursing Home on April 6, 2006. He was 92 years old. Homer was a member of the Native American Church; enjoying all aspects of the church. He most especially loved the Bear and Sun Dance. Surviving Homer are his children, Helen M. Munoz, Marjorie Soto and husband, Jesus, Raymond Tom, Gloria Tom, Vernita K. Tom, and Roselina Tom all of Towaoc; stepchildren, Angela Badback and Davis Badback of Towaoc; 37 grandchildren, 41 great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren; and two brothers, Lawrence Tom and Glenn Tom of White Rock, Utah. Homer was preceded in death by his first wife, Lizzie Spencer Bancroft in 1973 and Frances Marie Wall in 2002; and three children, Margaret Tom, Emily Tom, and Raynard W. Tom.
