HILDA LAVERNE ALLEE Funeral services for Cortez resident, Hilda LaVerne Allee will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, November 18 at Evans-Brown Sun City Chapel in Sun City, Calif. Interment will take place at the Perris Valley Cemetery in Perris, Calif. Mrs. Allee was born in Santa Ana, Calif., on April 10, 1919, the only child of George and Dollie (Matthews) Rosemeyer. She passed away at the age of 86 after a fifteen-year battle with Alzheimer’s disease at the home of her daughter, Ramona in Cortez. Hilda lived in the Perris, Calif. area for over 70 years, and graduated from Perris Union High School in 1937. She married William Orval Allee on Nov. 25, 1937. They shared 62 years together prior to Orval’s death in March 2000. The Allee’s left behind their many friends and moved to Phoenix in 1995 and then to Cortez in 1996. Hilda was a beautician for 45 years, owning her own business, which occupied the remodeled front porch of her home. She was active in PTA, a Girl Scout leader and was instrumental in getting the Perris Girl Scout House built in the 1950’s. She was a Charter Member of the Redeemer Lutheran Church of Perris and an active member of the Ladies Guild. Surviving Hilda are her daughter, Ramona and son-in-law, Manson Merritt of Cortez; her grandson, Michael and wife, Priscilla Merritt; granddaughter, Rhonda and husband, Preston Scott; her great-grandson, Brandon Morton; her step-great-grandchildren, Rick Padilla, Ernesto Padilla, Angelina Ramsay and families all of Cortez, and Juan Padilla and family of Tucson, Ariz., including eight great-great-grandchildren. Also included in her extended family are Edward Bacon and his two children; two sisters-in-law; a brother-in-law, and several nieces and nephews.
