Hernando Octavio Quezada

HERNANDO OCTAVIO QUEZADA Funeral mass for Cortez resident, Hernando Octavio Quezada will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, September 24 at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church with Reverend Joseph L. Gallegos C.R. officiating. Interment will follow at Cortez Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church beginning at 6 p.m. Wednesday evening followed by the Rosary service at 7 p.m. Hernando was born May 20, 1937 in Matachic, Chihuahua, Mexico the son of Genaro and Macedonia (Bencomo) Quezada. He passed away at his Cortez home on Sunday, September 20, 2009 at the age of 72. On April 30, 1960 in Matachic, Chihuahua Hernando married Maria Perez. He loved horses and rodeo and enjoyed time spent taming horses. Surviving Hernando are his wife of 49 years, Maria DeQuezada of Cortez; his children, Octavio Quezada and wife, Lupe, Elier Quezada and wife, Carol all of Cortez, and Zenaido Quezada and wife, Magdalena, Macedonia Flores and husband, Adolfo, and Rumaldo Quezada and wife, Angie; and by 11 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Hernando is also survived by his siblings, Fernando Quezada and wife, Angela, Randolfo Quezada and wife, Mariaelena, Dora Dominguez, and Elia Arvizo and husband, Gabriel. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Gildardo Quezada, and Anastacio Quezada.
