HERMAN RAY MCCABE Funeral services for lifelong Cahone resident Herman Ray McCabe will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, January 17 the Ertel Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow at the Cahone Cemetery. Greg Holmesley will officiate. Herman was born on October 30, 1925 in Grand Junction, Colo., the son of Grover Cleveland and Loretta Annis (Finch) McCabe. He passed away on Thursday, January 11, 2007 at the Southwest Memorial Hospital at the age of 81. On April 27, 1948, Herman married Pauline Overstreet in Tucson, Ariz. Herman was a member of the Cahone Recreation Center and enjoyed time spent there. He also loved to farm. Surviving Herman are his wife of 58 years, Pauline McCabe of Cahone; his children, Herman Ray McCabe Jr. and wife, Renate of Cahone, and Ronald Allen McCabe and wife, Debbie of Sandy, Utah; his grandchildren, Russell Ray McCabe and wife, Karen of Albuquerque, N.M., and Paulett Marie McCabe of Cortez; and his great-grandchildren, James, Isabelle, Christopher Don, Breanna Marie, and Jeremy Ray McCabe. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, Melvin Donald McCabe. Memorial contributions may be made in Herman’s memory to the Vista Mesa Alzheimer’s patients.
