HELEN FAYE WILLETT Memorial services for lifelong Dolores resident, Helen Faye Willett will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, October 15 at the Dolores United Methodist Church with Reverend Rob Bruendl officiating. Helen was born February 14, 1939 in Dolores the daughter of James Harmon and Frances Mae (Carlson) Becher. She passed away at Southwest Memorial Hospital on Thursday, October 8, 2009 at the age of 70. Helen graduated from Montezuma Cortez High School in 1957. She owned and operated the Dolores Laundry with her husband, Jack and she also owned Natural Hairstyling Salon in Dolores. Helen was a member of the Dolores United Methodist Church, was active in the Chamber of Commerce, and served as an election official for a number of years. An avid outdoors person, Helen enjoyed camping and hunting. Mostly, though, she loved being with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Surviving Helen are her husband, Jack Richard Willett of Dolores; her children, Gary Willett of Durango, Tammy Willett Russell and husband, Ron of Lewis, Colo., Vicki Willett Royce and husband, Don of Cortez, Tina Willett Archer and her significant other, Curt Haun of Dolores, and Richard Willett and wife, Brandi of Wisconsin; by nine grandchildren and nine great grandchildren; her brother, James J. Becher of Arriola; and by numerous extended family in the Cortez/Dolores area. Memorial contributions can be made in memory of Helen Willett with the Dolores United Methodist Church or the Dolores Fire Department.
