HELEN FAYE RISENHOOVER Funeral services for Helen Faye Risenhoover, longtime Egnar resident, will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, March 30 at the Cahone Community Church with interment following at the Cahone Cemetery. Pastor Matt Segebartt of the Dove Creek Seventh Day Adventist Church will officiate. Visitation has been set for Wednesday from noon until service time at the Cahone Community Church. Helen was born the daughter of Orville and Nora (Neely) Smith on January 12, 1913 at Agra, Oklahoma. She passed away at Vista Grande Nursing Home on Sunday, March 27, 2005 at the age of 92. Helen married Lewis Jasper Risenhoover on June 29, 1929 in Chandler, Oklahoma. The couple moved to Colorado in 1930 from Cushing, Oklahoma in a Ford Roadster, which they had built a large box on the back to haul their belongings. Along the way they had seven flat tires. Helen loved to travel and always had her bags packed. She also enjoyed a large vegetable garden; she loved to cook and eat baked beans. She had time always to play with the children and grandchildren. Surviving Helen are her children, Darrell Risenhoover and wife, Laura of Tucson, Ariz., Alice Wright of Clifton, Colo., Rachel Geisinger and husband, Clifford of Egnar, Margaret Heaps and husband, Charlie of Smyrna, Tenn., and Carol Hicks and husband, Jim of Denver, Colo. She leaves, also, 28 grandchildren, 54 great grandchildren, and ten great great grandchildren; and three daughters-in-law, Diane Risenhoover of Cortez, Ruthie Renne of Cortez, and Wanda Turner of Sedona, Ariz. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis Risenhoover in 1987; two sons, Delbert Risenhoover and Donald Risenhoover; and a brother, Glen Smith. Memorial contributions can be made in memory of Helen Risenhoover with Vista Grande Rehabilitation Center.
