Helen Burton

HELEN BURTON Helen Burton was born on October 29, 1909 in Fairmont, Minn. the daughter of DeForest and Ida (Currie) Stone. She passed away on Friday, October 31, 2008 at Vista Grande Inn at the age of 99. Helen married Curtis T. Burton and the couple shared 41 years of marriage. She diligently worked for Lockheed aircraft for 30 years. In the late 30's, Helen was named a top ten finalist in a Sears beauty pageant. She was a gifted artist, Helen excelled at pencil drawings. In her free time, Helen enjoyed puzzles, watching game shows and playing Bingo. Surviving Helen are her daughter, Bonnie Biery and husband, Richard of Cortez; her grandchildren, David Biery and wife, Tina of Cortez, Steven Biery and wife, Catherine of Durango, and Michael Biery and wife, Erin of Durango; and her great-grandchildren, Devon, Kyle, Lauren, and Natalie Biery. Helen was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Curtis Burton; two brothers; and two sisters. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service for Helen will be held at a later date.
