HAZEL MARIE HILL Private graveside services were held for Cortez resident, Hazel Marie Hill on Wednesday, December 28 at Cortez Cemetery. Hazel was born June 29, 1921 in Checotah, Okla. to Herman and Lavonia Elizabeth (McCoy) Fritts. She passed away Wednesday, December 21, 2011 at Vista Grande Inn in Cortez. Hazel was 90 years old. Hazel leaves behind her loving family consisting of two daughters, Claudean Jones and husband, Neil of Dove Creek and Sue Carothers and husband, Frank of Phoenix; four grandchildren, Neil Jones Jr. and wife, Machelle of Dove Creek, Monica Holt and husband, Dennis of Peoria, Ariz., David Carothers of Portland, Ore. and Steve Carothers and wife, Justina of Goodyear, Ariz.; five great grandchildren, Maranda, Felicity, Chris, Dustin and Rebecca and her husband, Floyd; three great-great grandchildren, Ryder, Devyn and Coletta; and by two sisters, Virdia Mae and Ruth. Hazel was preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Elizabeth Fritts; by her husband, William Thomas "W.T." Hill in 2004; and by three brothers and two sisters.
