HARRY JONES Funeral services longtime Cortez resident Harry Jones will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, November 26 at Ertel Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow at Cortez Cemetery. Visitation has been set for Sunday afternoon from 2 to 4 p.m. at Ertel Chapel. Harry was born the son of Tom Jones and Beulah Whitehorse Jones on November 8, 1945 at Ismay, Utah. He passed away at his home on Wednesday, November 21, 2012 at the age of 67. Harry proudly served his country during the Vietnam War in the U.S. Marines. He married Marilyn Marie Cable in Akron, Ohio on March 18, 1991. Harry worked as a Master Mechanic for most of his life. In his free time he enjoyed Traditional Shoe Games and Squaw Dances; working outside, fishing and bowling. He was a BINGO caller. Surviving Harry are his wife of 21 years, Marilyn Jones of Cortez; three daughters, Marvetta Jones of Ramah, N.M., Ann Jones of Mancos, and Abigail Jones of Cortez; four grandchildren, Marjorie Secatero, Paulette Apachito, Paulriah Apachito and Paul Apachito Jr. and by 10 great grandchildren. Also surviving Harry are his siblings, Betty Nakai and husband, Wayne of Aneth, Utah, David Jones and wife, Rosie of Cortez, Charles Jones of Red Mesa, Ariz. and Amelia Deschinny of Mancos; by numerous nieces and nephews; and extended family. Harry was preceded in death by his parents; by two children, Harriet Jones and Harry Lee Jones; a grandson, Paulando Apachito; and by his siblings, Lee Jones, Emma Chilly and Joe Jones.
