HARRY HALLS Funeral services for lifelong Mancos resident Harry Halls will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, January 29 at the Mancos Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Interment will follow at Cedar Grove Cemetery. Visitation is set for Saturday morning at the Mancos L.D.S. Church from 8:30 a.m. to service time. Harry was born September 17, 1915 in Mancos the son of David and Lillian Emma (Dean) Halls. He passed away on Monday, January 24, 2011 at his residence at the age of 95. On September 26, 1940 Harry married Marjorie Decker at the Salt Lake City L.D.S. Temple. They shared 64 years of marriage before Marjorie's death in 2004. Harry was in the Bishopric for 25 years. He was the President of Mancos Cemetery District for many years. Harry was hard working; ranching for many years. He loved animals and spending time wood working and carving. He was a good husband and wonderful father and grandfather. Harry was a friend to everyone. Surviving Harry are his children, Fred D. Halls and wife, Diane of Orem, Utah, Susanne Halls Stowe and husband, Bill of Mancos, W. Keith Halls of Mancos, Sydney H. Boretsky and husband, Rick of Queen Creek, Ariz., and Diane Styles and husband, Ken of Cortez; ten grandchildren, Steven, Heather, Brian, Randy, Aaron, Dwight, Cody, Shawn, Logan, and Shanda; and 14 great grandchildren. Also surviving Harry is his brother, Gene Halls of Durango, Colo.; and his "special" friend, Shaun Conway. Preceding Harry in death were his parents; his wife, Marjorie Halls; daughter, Lorraine Halls; grandson, Jason Halls; siblings, Leon Halls, Hazel Hammond, Dean Halls, Klea Halls, Verd Halls, Edith Duvic, Ralph Halls, and Clifford Halls; and by his daughter-in-law, Peggy Halls. Memorial contributions can be made in memory of Harry Halls with either the Alzheimer's Association or Diabetes Foundation to help fund research.
