HARRIETT RUTH FIRESTONE "NANA" Funeral services for Harriett Ruth Firestone "Nana", former Mancos resident, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, February 9 at Mancos United Methodist Church. Burial will follow at Cedar Grove Cemetery. Visitation has been set for Friday afternoon from 3 to 5 p.m. at Ertel Funeral Home. Mrs. Firestone, 64, of Matthews, N.C. died Saturday, February 2, 2008. She was born December 26, 1943 in Durango, Colo., daughter of the late William McLaughlin and Betty DeVore. Harriett lived most of her life in Mancos. She graduated in 1962 from Mancos High School and worked at the local hardware store. She moved to Matthews in 1997 and worked a sales associate at Lowe's Home Improvement. Surviving Harriett are her daughter, Jamie Kloiber and husband, Joey of Charlotte, N.C.; her son, Steven Firestone and wife, Monique of Mancos; and grandchildren, Laurie, Blake, Ashton, Trey and Courtney. Also surviving Harriett and her brother, William McLaughlin; and sisters, Nancy Hoffheins and Talonda Sprague. She was preceded in death by her parents, Betty and Frank DeVore; her father, William McLaughlin; and her younger brother, "Bucko". The family would like to express their sincere thanks to family, neighbors, friends and all others who touched our mother's heart. In lieu of flowers, memorials contributions can be made payable to the Harriett Firestone Memorial Fund, c/o Mancos High School, 355 Grand Avenue, Mancos, Colorado 81328, which was always a big part of Harriett's children's lives.
