HARRIET ALLEEN NOWOTNY Memorial services for longtime Cortez resident Harriet Alleen Nowotny will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, August 29 at the Cortez First Baptist Church. Pastor Marvin Graves will officiate. The service will also celebrate the life of Harriet's husband, William Nowotny. Harriet was born December 3, 1930 in Pueblo, Colo. the daughter of Hiram A. and Pearl E. (Strand) McNeil. She passed away on Thursday, August 20, 2015 at her residence at the age of 84. Surviving Harriet are her children, Tom Nowotny and wife, Dawn of Denver, Colo., and Sharon Underwood and husband, Kirk of Cortez; four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; and by her sister, Marguerite Collard of Grand Junction, Colo. She was preceded in death by her parents; by her husband, William Ward Nowotny; and by her brother, William McNeil.
