HAROLD MAX LYON Funeral services for longtime Cortez resident Harold Max Lyon will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, July 30 at Ertel Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow at the Cortez Cemetery. Pastor Steve Nofel and Brent Pharo will officiate. A visitation has been scheduled for Tuesday evening from 5 to 7 p.m. at Ertel Chapel. Harold was born November 9, 1917 in Waverly, Kans. the son of Hubert and Bertha (Miller) Lyon. He passed away at Vista Grande Inn on Thursday, July 24, 2008 at the age of 90. Surviving Harold are his children, Douglas Lyon and wife, Susan of Cortez, and Judy Lyon Davis of Forest Hills, N.Y.; his grandchildren, Dustyn Lyon and wife, Adrien of Cortez, and Bradyn Lyon and wife, Montana of Seattle, Wash.; his great-granddaughter, Isabella Lyon of Seattle, Wash.; and his sister, Madge Story Beard and husband, Dr. Howard Beard of Cortez. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Margaret Lyon; and his siblings, Rex Lyon, Louise Turvey, Frances Pharo, and Gladys Krusor.
