HAROLD G. BRIDGEWATER Funeral services for lifelong Cortez resident, Harold G. Bridgewater will be held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, November 15 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Empire Street Chapel with Bishop Darrel Veach officiating. Interment will follow at the Cortez Cemetery with Military Honors being provided by Ute Mountain American Legion Post #75. Visitation has been set for Monday evening from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Ertel Memorial Chapel. Harold was born February 22, 1927 the son of Frank B. and Laura Freda (Treece) Bridgewater in the Beulah District north of Cortez, Colo. He passed away at his home in McElmo Canyon on Friday, November 11, 2005. He was 78 years old. A gentle, loving man, Harold was considered a friend to all. He was an avid hunter and enjoyed his time woodworking. He loved his John Deere Tractor and farming. He loved the outdoors and spent many summer days with Chuck and Mary Ellen McComb and Suzy at their hunting camp in the mountains. Surviving Harold are his wife, Audrey L. Bridgewater of Cortez; his daughters, Karen Kumke of Ft. Morgan, Colo., Jeannie Otto of Arvada, Colo. and Cindy Bridgewater of Grotco, Va.; stepchildren, Dave Allmon of Cortez, Cammy Stevens of Mancos, Mary Lou Pyle of Cortez; two brothers, Bill Bridgewater of Cortez and Jim Bridgewater of Cortez; and a sister, Twila Switzer also of Cortez. Memorial contributions can be made in memory of Harold Bridgewater with Hospice of Montezuma; PO Drawer 740, Cortez.
