Gyanne Ruth Cellar was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and servant of Jesus Christ. She went to be with her Heavenly Father Friday, December 3, 2021 in Cortez, Colorado at the age of 75.
Gyanne was born December 16, 1945 in Alamosa, Colorado to parents Guy and Anne Shipman. She spent her early years with her parents in Liberia, West Africa where her father was a blacksmith for a mining company. Gyanne attended high school in Holland, and is a graduate of the University of Colorado with a degree in art. In 1967 she married Ralph Cellar, settling first in Ft. Collins later relocating to Cortez in 1973. Gyanne has been an active wife, mother, homemaker, artist and friend in her time in Cortez. She served as the secretary at Arriola Bible Church for 20 years. She was very active in ceramics, teaching classes and filling custom orders, and in later years became very active in quilting. Gyanne led a lifetime of ministry through home and church bible studies, Christian Women’s Club, counseling, mentoring and a Godly life. She is survived by her husband, Ralph Cellar of Cortez; son Mark Cellar and wife Lisa Cellar of Castle Rock; son Gary Cellar and wife Emily Cellar and children Joshua Cellar and Annie Cellar of Highlands Ranch.
Gyanne’s prayer for you is that you read Ephesians 3: 14-21.
A memorial is scheduled for 3 p.m. Sunday, December 19, 2021 at Arriola Bible Church, 15998 Road 22, Dolores, CO 81323. A private internment will take place at Summit Ridge Cemetery.
