Guadalupe Esqueda "Lonnie" Norris

GUADALUPE ESQUEDA "LONNIE" NORRIS Funeral Mass for longtime Cortez resident Guadalupe Esqueda "Lonnie" Norris will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, July 1 at Ertel Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow at Lewis Cemetery. A visitation has been scheduled for Tuesday evening from 5 to 7 p.m. at Ertel Chapel with Rosary services beginning at 6 p.m. Lonnie was born on December 25, 1931 in Sanger, Calif. the daughter of Cedric and Ruby (Maldanado) Esqueda. She passed away on Friday, June 26, 2009 at Southwest Memorial Hospital at the age of 77. Lonnie attended high school in Delano, Calif. and graduated in 1949. On August 3, 1958, Lonnie married Floyd Norris in Sanger, Calif. Lonnie was a member of the Chiefs' Wives club in China Lake, Calif. She enjoyed hunting, fishing and being outdoors. Time spent with her family brought Lonnie much joy. Surviving Lonnie are her husband of 50 years, Floyd Norris of Cortez; and her children, Floyd T. Norris Jr. and wife, Donna of Santee, Calif., Wayne Dean Norris of Kansas City, Mo., Richie Bonita Klein and husband, Daniel of Chaska, Minn., Mario Eloy Norris of Farmington, N.M., and Linda Lee Knuckles of Mesa, Ariz. Lonnie also leaves behind 16 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and her siblings, Helen, Gloria, Stella, Henry, Evelyn, Greg, Leonard, and Charlie. Lonnie was preceded in death by her parents.
