Gregory John Wolcott

GREGORY JOHN "GREG" WOLCOTT Gregory John "Greg" Wolcott was born on June 22, 1959 in Buffalo, N.Y. to Dean E. and Betty A. (Berger) Wolcott. He passed away on Monday, November 7, 2011 at his Mancos home at the age of 52. On November 5, 1983 Greg married Robin Denise Slough in Durango, Colo. They celebrated their 28th anniversary last Saturday. Greg founded and continued to operate Wolcott Insurance Services in Durango. He was also very active in ranching and helped to better utilize the water in the Mancos valley by working to get the water from open ditches into pipelines. In the past, he was president of the Beaver and Bolen ditch companies as well as a board member of the Mancos Water District. Greg also served as a past president of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Cortez. In his spare time, Greg loved fly fishing, tying his own flies, wood working, working on the family ranch, traveling, and spending time with his family. Surviving Greg are his wife, Robin Wolcott of Mancos; his parents, Dean and Betty Wolcott of Mancos; his children, Erin Wolcott of Ft. Collins, Colo., and Ben Wolcott and wife, Sensa of Mancos; his sister, Jenny Thomas of Flagstaff, Ariz.; and his nephews, Matt and Ryan Bingham both of Flagstaff, Ariz. Greg was preceded in death by his siblings, Liz Wolcott and Dee Wolcott.
