GOLDIE LORENE ROSE Funeral services for Goldie Lorene Rose, a lifelong resident of Dove Creek will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, November 19 at the Dove Creek First Southern Baptist Church. Pastor Keith Weaver will officiate. Interment will be held at the Dove Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the Dove Creek First Southern Baptist Church at 1 p.m. on Saturday. Goldie was born April 10, 1922 at Egnar, Colo. to Jackson Monroe and Frances Elizabeth (Strother) McNeely. She passed away at Vista Grande Nursing Home on Friday, November 11, 2005 at the age of 83. March 31, 1941 in Aztec, N.M. Goldie wed Donald Rose. The couple shared 62 years of marriage before Donald’s death in February 2004. Goldie was devoted to her family enjoying her time spent as mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She lovingly opened her home to her nephew, raising him after the death of his mother. Goldie had attended school only through the eighth grade and at the age of 56, Goldie received her GED. She loved to read, crochet, camp and fish. She was a longtime member of the Dove Creek First Southern Baptist Church. Surviving Goldie are her three daughters, Donna Mae Sellard of Los Angeles, Calif., Linda Sue Perkins and husband, Larry of Ignacio, Colo., and Diane Lynn Shutt and husband, Don of Yellow Jacket, Colo.; six grandchildren, Rod Sellard, Tammy Kennedy, Ronnie Perkins, Debbie Sharski, Mandy Kaime, and Michael Shutt; four great grandchildren, Jeriah Kennedy, Jesse Kennedy, James Kennedy, and Tyler Kaime; her special nephew, Dennis Knuckles; and her special niece, Vivian Brackett Brewer; and many other extended family members. Preceding Goldie in death were her husband, Donald; her son, Frank Duane Rose and a son-in-law, Lonnie Sellard. She was also preceded by sisters and brother, Mary McNeely, Gracie Mae McNeely Knuckles, and James Earl McNeely; and half-brothers and sisters, Jasper William McNeely, Lula McNeely Brackett, Jessie Monroe McNeely, John McNeely and Lonnie McNeely.
