Gloria Mary Rosenberger Case

June 5, 1922 — April 3, 2015

GLORIA MARY ROSENBERGER CASE Gloria Mary Rosenberger Case passed away at Southwest Memorial Hospital on Friday, April 3, 2014 at the age of 92. She was born June 5, 1922 to Dorothea Leola (Betts) and Harold Beck Rosenberger in Fostoria, Ohio. Both parents are deceased; as is one sister, Joanne; and a grandson, Aaron. Gloria was married to the love of her life, Robert "Bob" J. Case Sr. They were married April 9, 1944, a perfect union for 66 years. They had three sons, Dr. Robert J. Case Jr. (Ragna), Houston, Tex., David "Rick" Richard Case (Carol Sue), Punta Gorda, Fla., Terry Lee Case (Denise), Southlake, Tex.; one daughter, Kathy Anne Case Hart (Mike), Granbury, Tex.; six grandchildren, Rebecca and Matt Case, David Case, Larsen Bjorklund, Casey Steward (Devin) and Travis Case; and three beautiful great grandchildren, Wyatt and Eilee Yates and Casin Kade Steward. All her family meant the world to her. Gloria graduated from Harding High School in Marion, Ohio and then attended Tiffin University in Tiffin, Ohio. She joined Beta Sigma Phi and was inducted into an honorary fraternity Delta Sigma Kappa. Then she became a bookkeeper for several years. Gloria met Bob (after her got his medical discharge from the Air Force) in Marion, Ohio. They both worked at the 838th Depot Detachment where P51 parts were stored. After Bob started working at an excelsior company in California, they moved to Texas for the first time, she, again, was a bookkeeper. Bob was transferred back to California for a couple years, then transferred back to Texas; it was then she stayed at home to raise their four children. Bob and Gloria joined a dance club in Arlington, Tex. in the 1950s. It cost them $35.00 a season for at least 3 or 4 dancing shindigs at a beautiful ballroom in Ft. Worth, Tex. They really cut a rug. Gloria loved bowling and making ceramics. She made Santa mugs for her children and the whole class, when each was in the 1st grade. As they grew older, she was involved in Girl Scouts (a Leader) and in Boy Scouts. She was involved in PTA for each child for all their school years. Bob and Gloria moved to Mancos in 1974 and then over to Cortez in 1988. After all the children left the nest, she took up golf with a passion. When she got to be 80, she joined three other friends, to play just 9 holes (they set a prerequisite "must be at least 80, have a scar some place on your body, and white hair would help"). "That was really fun. Probably had more fun than the 18 hole groups." Gloria made many golfing friends over the years, was on the Golf Advisory Board a number of years, was Communion Steward in Mancos for 10 years, held several different offices in the Cortez Women's Golf Association. While serving on the Courtesy committee, she sent loving cards to any member who was ill or needed a boost; she loved people. Gloria liked to plant flowers and grow tomatoes (when the weather would let her). Gloria will be sincerely missed. At her request, there will be no formal services.
