GLENN WYETH “NICK” BAUMGARTNER Funeral services for Glenn Wyeth “Nick” Baumgartner, 73 of Mancos, will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, May 25 at the Mancos Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Interment will follow at Webber Cemetery. Nick was born December 25, 1933 in Santa Rosa, Calif. the son of Glenn Harlen and Gladys Katherine (Duke) Baumgartner. He passed away at his home in Mancos on Sunday, May 20, 2007. On September 24, 1958 in Reno, Nev., Nick married Maxine Powell. He is a former member of the Mancos Town Board, Law Enforcement Board, and has been the caretaker for the LDS Church for 13 years. In his free time Nick enjoyed building and racing stock cars as well as gardening. Surviving Nick are his wife of 48 years, Maxine Baumgartner of Mancos; children, Jeffrey Baumgartner and wife, Lisa of Minneapolis, Minn., Peggy Ledford and husband, James of Cortez, Duffy Baumgartner and wife, Carol of Mancos, Chad Baumgartner and wife, Joy of Yosuka, Japan, Troy Baumgartner and Amy Baumgartner both of Mancos; 13 grandchildren; and two sisters, Jody Davis and husband, Robert of Sebastopol, Calif. and Ruth LaPierre of Yuba City, Calif. A son, Jerry Duane Baumgartner preceded Nick in death. Memorial contributions can be made in memory of Glenn W. “Nick” Baumgartner with Feed The Children, PO Box 36, Oklahoma City, Okla. 73101-0036
