GLADYS ELAINE K. HAMMOND Graveside services for lifelong Towaoc resident Gladys Elaine K. Hammond will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, August 26 at Towaoc Cemetery. Visitation has been scheduled for Wednesday afternoon from 4 to 7 p.m. at Ertel Memorial Chapel. Gladys was born on January 15, 1936 in Towaoc the daughter of Charles and Kate (Snow) Knight. She passed away on Monday, August 23, 2010 at Vista Grande Inn at the age of 74. Gladys loved to play bingo and she always attended her grandchildren’s sporting events. Gladys was a devoted Denver Broncos fan and she enjoyed attending Bear and Sun Dances when she was able. Surviving Gladys are her children, Rudy Hammond, Brenda K. Hammond, Gordon R. Hammond, Aldo A. Hammond, Reuben Hammond, and Rebecca L. Hammond all of Towaoc; her adopted daughter, Pearl Lim of New York City, N.Y.; and numerous nieces and nephews. Gladys also leaves behind her siblings, Elsie Martinez of Cortez, Judy Knight Frank and husband, Robert of Towaoc, Katherine Ridley and husband, Steven of Farm Creek, Utah and Terry G. Knight and wife, Flaydina of Towaoc. Gladys was preceded in death by her parents; by her children, Eugene Knight and Jordon Jack Hammond; and her siblings, Helen Knight, Ben Watts Sr., and Carl Knight.
