GILMER LEE PICKENS A celebration of life for lifelong Mancos resident Gilmer Lee Pickens will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, November 28 at Ertel Memorial Chapel. Following the celebration Gilmer's favorite pies and coffee will be shared. Gilmer was born January 23, 1941 in Mancos the son of Charles Nolan and Grace Marie (Gibbs) Pickens. He passed away on Sunday, November 22, 2015 at his residence at the age of 74. Surviving Gilmer are his loving wife, Mary Pickens of Mancos; his daughters, Lorie Barber (Ray) of Tijeras, N.M. and Ronda Cox (Rodney) of Mancos; his grandchildren, Leoni Bilyeu (Ryan), Cody Barber, Kendra Cox, and Kyle Cox; his great-granddaughter, Kenzie Bilyeu; a great-grandson arriving in February 2016; and by his siblings, Larry Pickens (Cookie) of Cortez, and Karen Mathews (Darrel) of Mancos. Gilmer was preceded in death by his parents; and by his sister, Shirley Pickens. Memorial contributions may be made in Gilmer Pickens' name to Hospice of Montezuma P.O. Box 740, Cortez, Colo. 81321.
