GERALD LEWIS "JERRY" FOSTER Gerald Lewis "Jerry" Foster was born July 19, 1932 in Fairplay, Colo. the son of Earl Lewis and Ellen Sarah (O'Mailia) Foster. He passed away on Friday, September 30, 2016 in his yard where he loved to work at the age of 84. On May 26, 1978, Jerry married Kimberly Kay Fleming in Denver, Colo. He worked for many years for Skanska/Nielsons, Kiewit, and many other construction companies as a heavy equipment operator. Jerry was part of the McPhee Dam project and was very proud of all the projects he worked on across the great state of Colorado. He finished his career with Weminuche Construction. In his free time, Jerry enjoyed hunting, reading, watching football and working with his hands. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt and cut wood. He was a great story teller who loved sharing work, hunting, and Marine Corp. stories with his kids and grandkids. He was also a member of the Elks Lodge. Surviving Jerry are his wife of 38 years, Kimberly Foster of Cortez; and by his children, Sandra Dabney (Michael) of Craig, Colo., Gerry Foster (Rhonda) of Southern California, Florence Nichols of Orlando, Flor., Steven Foster (Darlene) of Greeley, Colo., Susan Pottberg (Ron) of Delta, Colo., Anna Clark (Barry) of Whitman, Ariz., Rick Foster (Jacquie) of Kalispell, Mont., and Lance Foster of Cortez. Jerry also leaves behind 18 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and by his brother, Phil Foster of Montrose, Colo. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents; and by his siblings, Josephine Foster, Thomas Foster, Patrick Foster, and Michael Foster. Cremation has taken place and no services are planned. In lieu of flowers and to honor his memory "Old Bear" would want you to put on a blaze orange coat and go hunting. "If you're only 5 minutes early then you're already late."
