DR. GERALD EUGENE “GERRY” HOWE Memorial services for longtime area resident and surgeon, Dr. Gerald Eugene “Gerry” Howe will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, December 9, at Trinity Lutheran Church. Pastor Donald Thompson will officiate. Gerry was born May 10, 1934 in Lead, S.D. He passed away at his home in Cortez on Wednesday, December 6, 2006 at the age of 72. Gerry was active within the Cortez Rotary Club and was a member of the Cortez Cultural Center. He enjoyed his time spent outdoors, hunting, fishing, golfing and cycling. Surviving Gerry are his wife, Linda S. Howe of Cortez; his four children, John T. Howe and wife, Gail of Grand Junction, Colo., James P. Howe and wife, Sarah of Lakewood, Colo., Jennifer Howe Mueller and husband, Mike of Mequon, Wis., and Lisa Howe Stavrou and husband, Scott of Baltimore, Md.; five grandchildren, Katharine and Jonah Howe of Grand Junction, Colo., and Nicholas, Luke and Josh Mueller of Mequon, Wis.; and his sister, Beverly Carlson and husband, John of Green Valley, Ariz. Memorial contributions can be made in Gerry's name with Southwest Memorial Hospital.
