George Elwood "Jerry" Compton Iii

GEORGE ELWOOD "JERRY" COMPTON III George Elwood "Jerry" Compton III was born June 10, 1953 to George E. Compton Jr. and Dolores J. (Isaacs) Compton in Port Hueneme, Calif. He passed away at his Pleasant View home on October 3, 2013 at the age of 60. Jerry was a volunteer for many years and a board member for Fresh Start Horse Rescue. He enjoyed carpentry work and used his carpentry skills at the horse rescue as well. Surviving Jerry are his son, Nicholas Isaacs Compton of Sneads Ferry, N.C.; step-daughter, Janelle M. Winn of Frisco, Tex.; grandson, Maddox Compton; step-granddaughters, Ella and Claire Winn; father, George E. Compton Jr. of Cortez; mother, Dolores J. Compton of Tucson, Ariz.; and brothers, Gary Compton and Terry Compton. Preceding him in death is his brother, Larry Compton. Cremation has taken place and private services will be held at a later date.
