GENEVIEVE ESPINOZA Funeral services for former Cortez resident, Genevieve Espinoza will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, August 1 at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church. Burial will take place at Cortez Cemetery. Visitation has been scheduled for Friday afternoon from 2 to 4 p.m. at Ertel Memorial Chapel. A Rosary service will take place Friday evening at 7 p.m. at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church. Genevieve was born on March 28, 1930 in Mancos the daughter of Saturnino and Luisa (Marez) Candelaria. She passed away at Sunny Vista Living Center in Colorado Springs, Colo. on Friday, July 24, 2009 at the age of 79. On April 10, 1947, Genevieve married Freddie Moses Espinoza in Aztec, N.M. A devoted member of St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, Genevieve also enjoyed embroidery, cooking, dancing, and Bingo. Her family brought her much happiness and Genevieve loved her grandchildren dearly. Surviving Genevieve are her children, Alice Vialpando and husband, Eloy of Cortez, Patsy Fox and husband, William "Bill" of Huntsville, Alabama, Leroy Espinoza and wife, Cathy of Cortez, and Steve Espinoza and wife, Donnie of Colorado Springs, Colo. Genevieve also leaves behind eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and her siblings, Mary Candelaria of Denver, Colo., Flora Archibeque of Cortez, Porferio Candelaria of Denver, Colo., Adolph Candelaria of Denver, Colo., Dora Crandell of San Jose, Calif., Lola Martinez of Pueblo, Colo., Lillia Finn of Denver, Colo., Nancy Ruiz of Cortez, Harry Archibeque of Arriola, and Betty Howard of Utah. She was preceded in death by her parents; by husband, Freddie M. Espinoza in 1995; by her son, Freddie E. Espinoza; and by her siblings, Jimmie Candelaria, Raymond Candelaria, Lorenzo Candelaria, Junior Candelaria, Victoria Candelaria, Maggie Candelaria, Pauline Candelaria, Matthew Candelaria, Pauline Candelaria, Albert Candelaria, Vivian Candelaria, Leo Howard, and Junior Howard.
