GENEVIEVE DICKERSON A celebration of life for longtime Mancos resident, Genevieve Dickerson will be held from 4:30 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Thursday, September 16 at Gene’s resident at Summit Lake. The address is 35933 Road P.5. Everyone is welcome to attend and spend time with the family. Gene was born on July 12, 1916 in Hollywood, Calif. the daughter of Ellias “Pat” and Ethel (Ennis) Anderson. She passed away on Tuesday, September 14, 2004 at the Southwest Memorial Hospital. Gene was 88 years old. Gene married the late Charles Edward Dickerson who passed away on July 20, 2000. They were married for 65 years. She enjoyed working with her husband in the family towing business, Dickerson’s Towing. The outdoors was something Gene loved dearly. She enjoyed fishing, camping and continued to hunt until three years ago. Reading was another favorite pastime of Gene’s. She also donated her time to volunteer at Kemper Elementary School. Surviving Gene are her children, Charles “Steve” Dickerson and wife, Tony of Westmorland, Calif., Virginia Dickerson of San Diego, Calif., and Nancy Dickerson Shaw and husband, Gary of Summit Ridge. Her grandchildren, Stephenie Adams and husband, Chuck of Springfield, Va., Sarah Dickerson of San Diego, Calif., and Garan Shaw of Summit Ridge also survive Gene. She leaves two great-grandchildren, Rachel and Steven Adams of Springfield, Va.; as well as her brother, Pete Anderson of Huntington Beach, Calif. Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Charles; and her sister, Florence Smith.
