GENEVIEVE BRICE A Funeral Mass will be held for Genevieve Brice, a longtime Cortez resident, at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 25 at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church. Reverend Joseph L. Gallegos C.R. will officiate. Genevieve will be laid to rest at Pagosa Springs Cemetery. Genevieve passed away at her Cortez home on Thursday, April 23, 2009. She was born the daughter of Ramon and Carmen (Samora) Chavez. She is survived by a large family including her children, Joe P. Williams, Bill Lopez, Ray Lopez, Marie Alice Lopez Garcia, and Jerry D. Lopez; as well as by numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. Many will remember Genevieve from her days waitressing at several of Cortez' restaurants. She was outgoing and cheerful and enjoyed people.
