GENEVA RUTH WATKINS Funeral services for longtime Dove Creek resident Geneva Ruth Watkins will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, January 15 at the Ertel Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow at the Dove Creek Cemetery. Pastors Keith Weaver and Mark Coffey will officiate. A visitation has been scheduled for Sunday afternoon from 4 to 5 p.m. at the Ertel Chapel. Geneva was born on March 9, 1936 in Cahone, the daughter of James Blakemore and Pattie Mary (Hall) Flowers. She passed away on Wednesday, January 10, 2007 at her residence at the age of 70. Geneva married Ernest L. Watkins on April 18, 1969 in Arriola. Surviving Geneva are her children, Patsy Knuckles and husband, Dean, Bert Watkins and wife, Vickie all of Dove Creek; her step-children, Barbara Morton and husband, Herschel, and Roger Watkins and wife, Dessie all of Dove Creek; her grandchildren, Kendell and Kristin Knuckles, Jagger and Rachelle Watkins, Clinton Morton, Jeremy, Wyatt, and Casey Watkins all of Dove Creek; her great-grandson, Jaden Watkins; and her siblings, Pattie P. Sword of Cortez, Samuel T. Flowers of Cadyville, N.Y., Melvin M. Flowers and wife Wilma of Black Canyon City, Ariz., and Violet D. Waschke and husband, Willie of Dove Creek. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ernest Watkins in 1999; and her siblings, Noble B. Flowers, Paralee E. Robison, Lallie B. Hopper, James B. Flowers Jr., Goldie M. Flowers, Mary M. Flowers, Martha M. Flowers, and Gethesemane Flowers. Memorial contributions may be made in Geneva’s memory to the Cahone Senior Center.
