Gene Katherine Parker

GENE KATHERINE PARKER Gene Katherine Parker a longtime Mancos resident passed away Thursday, April 22, 2010 at Valley Inn Nursing Home at the age of 96. She was born the daughter of Oscar and Zeta (Minter) Brockwell in Fort Stanton, N.M. on March 29, 1914. Gene was the wife of Percy Parker. The couple was active in ranching in the Mancos valley. She was an involved member of the Cowbelles and Eastern Star. From her involvement in Eastern Star she developed some very special friendships. Gene is survived by two nephews, Frank Garrity of Reno, Nev. and Michael Garrity of Bozeman, Mont. She was preceded by her beloved husband, Percy L. Parker in 1993; by her parents; and by her sister, Inez Garrity. Cremation has taken place and no services are planned at this time.
