GEAN LEO SLIGAR Funeral services for Gean Leo Sligar, former Cortez resident and current Monte Vista, Colo. resident, will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, May 22 at Ertel Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow at Cortez Cemetery. Chaplain Marvin Graves will officiate. Visitation has been set to begin at 1 p.m. at Ertel Chapel. Gean was born July 14, 1931 in Earlsboro, Okla. the son of Albert Leo and Dortha Helen (King) Sligar. He passed away on Saturday, May 16, 2015 in Monte Vista at the age of 83. Surviving Gean are his children, RaDonna Turner and husband, Paul of Palmer, Alaska, and Mike Sligar and wife, Rose of Bloomfield, N.M.; four grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; his siblings, Lewis Sligar, Owen Sligar, Violet Porter, Mary Miller; and his half-brother, Donald Evans. Gean was preceded in death by his parents.
