FRANKIE TED LOPEZ Funeral Mass for lifelong area resident Frankie Ted Lopez will be held at 12 p.m. on Saturday, January 7 at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church. Father Pat Valdez, C.R. will officiate. Burial will take place at Cortez Cemetery. Rosary services will be held on Friday evening beginning at 6 p.m. at the Catholic Church. Frankie was born on November 22, 1934 in Summit Ridge, Colo. to Frank and Juanita Donna (Espinoza) Lopez. He passed away on Sunday, January 1, 2012 at his Summit Ridge home at the age of 77. On September 14, 1957 Frankie married Beatrice Gustamantes in Cortez. They shared 54 years of marriage before his passing. Frankie worked in the oil field for 30 years and also sheered sheep. He enjoyed Indian dancing, riding horses, and he loved animals. Frankie was always there for his family and he taught his grandchildren to work hard. Surviving Frankie are his wife, Beatrice Lopez of Summit Ridge; his children, Frankie Lopez Jr. of Summit Ridge, Freddie Lopez of Shreveport, La., and Diana Velasquez and husband, Toby of Summit Ridge; his 11 grandchildren, Jeremy Lopez and wife, Sara and Frankie Lopez and wife, Sara, both of Paonia, Colo., Monique Willden and husband, Woody of Cedaredge, Colo., Martika Wilson and husband, Tanner of Paonia, Colo., Marque Lopez of Cortez, Amy Marie Lopez and husband, Carlos Felix and Tamica Lopez and husband, Jose Ortiz, both of Grand Junction, Colo., Natasha Velasquez and husband, Marty Randolph and Vanessa Velasquez, both of Summit Ridge, Ronnie Garcia and wife, Sony of Cortez, and Jerry Blackmore of Estes Park, Colo.; 23 great-grandchildren; and his siblings, Tommy Lopez and wife, Isabel of Dolores, Eugene Lopez and wife, Betty of Summit Ridge, Tony Lopez and wife, Bebe of Summit Ridge, Abe Lopez and wife, Gloria of Logan, Utah, and Ida Mott and husband, Darrell of Summit Ridge. Frankie was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Juanita Lopez; by his niece, Cindy (Lopez) Beyette; by his grandson, Donnie Velasquez; and by his brother, Victor Lopez.
