FRANKIE LEA COURTNEY Memorial services for Cortez resident Frankie Lea Courtney will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, March 16 at Ertel Memorial Chapel. Frankie was born August 12, 1930 in Ness City, Kans. the daughter of Thomas Franklin and Maude Elizabeth (Thompson) Courtney. She passed away on Thursday, March 8, 2012 at Southwest Memorial Hospital at the age of 81. Frankie volunteered her time at the Cortez Welcome Center and she did some work in the cafeteria at Manaugh Elementary School. She had an immense love for wolves. Surviving Frankie are her children, David Rex Crank and wife, Susan of Cortez and Bonnie Lee Mack and husband, Thomas of Groundhog, Colo.; her four grandchildren; and her six great-grandchildren. Frankie was preceded in death by her parents; and by her siblings, David Franklin Courtney and Bobbie Jean Bush. Memorial contributions may be made in Frankie Courtney's name to Save the Wolf Foundation.
