FRANK “KELLY” HAMMOND Frank “Kelly” Hammond was born on September 11, 1924 in Mancos the son of Frank Taylor and Minnie (Kelly) Hammond. He passed away on Thursday, May 26, 2005 at the Vista Grande Nursing Home at the age of 80. After graduating from Montezuma Cortez High School in 1942, Kelly went on to serve his country during World War II. He was a military veteran of both the Navy and the Marine Medical Corp. He later became a Farming Instructor for the Bureau of Land Management. Surviving Kelly are his sister, Joyce Baker and husband, Harry; and his nieces and nephew, Linda Baker, Sandi Baker, Nana Bishop and husband, Randy, and Kelly Eugene Baker. Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, Elaine Hammond; and his sister, Kathleen. No services will be held at this time. It was Kelly’s wish to be cremated and placed with his wife, and parents. He will be greatly missed by family and friends.
