Frances Mae Harris

FRANCES MAE HARRIS Funeral services for Longmont, Colo. resident and former area resident Frances Mae Harris will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, December 2 at Ertel Memorial Chapel. Private interment will take place at Greenmount Cemetery in Durango. Visitation has been scheduled for 1 p.m. to service time at Ertel Chapel. Frances was born on September 29, 1923 in Abbeyville County, S.C. the daughter of Ralph and Susie Mae (Barton) Lowery. She passed away on Saturday, November 27, 2010 at Peaks Care Center in Longmont, Colo. at the age of 87. On February 12, 1950, Frances married James David "J.D." Harris in South Carolina. Frances and J.D. were avid square dancers. She loved to spend time with her family and people in general, Frances will be greatly missed. In her free time she enjoyed reading and crocheting. Surviving Frances are her husband, J.D. Harris of Longmont, Colo.; her daughter, Jeri Jackson and husband, Butch of Longmont, Colo.; her grandchildren, Jamie Jackson and Joy Boritzki; her great-grandchildren, Abigail, Emily, Olivia, and Philip Jr.; and her sister, Helen King of Flowery Branch, Ga. Frances was preceded in death by her parents; by her son, Bradford William Harris; and by her brother, Clarence Jackson Lowery.
