FRANCES LUCILLE DUDLEY Funeral services for longtime Cortez resident Frances "Lucille" Dudley will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, February 16 at Ertel Memorial Chapel with David Cannon officiating. Interment will follow at Cortez Cemetery. Lucille was born October 24, 1918 in Kaufman County, Texas the daughter of John H. and Georgia Thelma (Nelson) Essary. She passed away at Southwest Memorial Hospital on Wednesday, February 11, 2009 at the age of 90. Lucille loved gardening and was well known for her produce. She enjoyed walking down 25 Road and waving to any and all who passed. Surviving Lucille are her daughter, Thelma Gregory of Cortez; grandchildren, Theresa Cannon and husband, David of Dolores, James Gregory and wife, Kim of Vernal, Utah; great grandchildren, Christa Cannon, Caleb Cannon, Braden Gregory and Brilee Gregory; and her half brothers and sisters, B.F. Essary, Marvin Essary, and Fern Carpenter all of Amarillo, Texas. Preceding Lucille in death were her husband, Clifford Martin Dudley; two sons, Johnny Dudley and Clifford Dudley; her siblings, Ben Essary, J.C. Essary, Opal Essary, and Rosey White; and her half brother, Buck Essary.
