FRANCES IRENE LARSEN Funeral services for Frances Irene Larsen, a lifelong resident of Cortez will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 19 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Road M Chapel. Interment will follow at Cortez Cemetery. Frances was born July 13, 1926 in Norwood, Colo. the daughter of Ralph Otis and Phoebe Olive (Kennedy) Stoddard. She passed away at the Valley Inn Nursing Home in Mancos on April 11, 2007 at the age of 80. An outgoing and caring person, Frances loved people and sharing her talents. She was very accomplished at quilting, crocheting, sewing and beading. She was a member of the Relief Society and the VFW Auxiliary. Frances found delight in her grandchildren and great grandchildren and she nicknamed each one of them according to their personalities and dreams; they in turned nicknamed her “G.G.” Frances took great joy in sharing with others. Surviving Frances are her husband, Clyde Larsen of Cortez; her children, Louise Maxwell and husband, Melvin of Mesa, Ariz., Lavena Snyder and husband, Darrel of Cortez, Charlotte Hager also of Cortez, Robert “Boyd” Hager and wife, Stephanie of Carnation, Wash., and Otis B. Hager and wife, Natacha of Alamosa, Colo.; and 32 grandchildren and 31 great grandchildren. Also surviving Frances are her stepchildren, Steven, David, Richard, Linda, Shirley and Ruth and their spouses, children, and grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and her siblings, Mabel Vosberge, Silas Stoddard, George Stoddard, and Ella Garner. Memorial contributions can be made in memory of Frances Larsen to Relay for Life.
