FRANCES ESTHER YOUNG Graveside services for longtime Cortez resident, Frances Esther Young will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, August 11 at the Cortez Cemetery. Reverend Duane Block of the Arriola Bible Church will be officiating. Frances was born on January 2, 1912 in LaPorte, Colo. the daughter of Reverend J. Morton and Constance (Grainger) Young. She went to be with her Lord on Friday, August 6, 2004 at the Vista Grande Nursing Home where she had been a resident for several years. Frances was 92 years old. Frances taught Junior High School math in the Albuquerque school system for 32 years. Upon retirement in 1970, she moved to Cortez to live with her sister Mildred. Her survivors include her sister, Mildred Young of Cortez; her nephews, Richard Green and family of Denton, Tex., and Kenneth Green and family of Sacramento, Calif. Preceding her in death were her parents; her sister, Quendred Green and husband, Leslie; and her infant brother, Melville Young.
