FLOYD TAYLOR NORRIS Funeral services for longtime Cortez resident Floyd Taylor Norris will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 14 at Ertel Memorial Chapel. Reverend Pat Valdez will officiate. Interment will follow at the Lewis Cemetery with graveside military honors being conducted by the Montezuma County V.F.W. Post 5231. A visitation will be held on Friday, April 13 at Ertel Chapel from 4 to 6 p.m. followed by a Rosary 6 p.m. Floyd was born May 28, 1923 in Nevada, MO. the son of Floyd Francis and Betty Ellen (Taylor) Norris. He passed away Sunday, April 8, 2018 at Southwest Memorial Hospital at the age of 94. Surviving Floyd are his children, Floyd Norris Jr. (Donna) of Santee, CA., Wayne Norris of OK., Richie Klein(Dan)of Box Elder, South Dakota, Mario Norris of Cortez, CO. and Linda Knuckles (Dean)of Mesa, AZ; by his siblings, Betty Kent (Keith) of Dolores, CO, Wanda Nutt of Kansas City, KS., Jane Flewelling of Nevada, MO; and by 17 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. Floyd was preceded in death by his parents; his wives, Nellie Elizabeth Norris, Guadalupe Lonnie Norris; his brothers, Lloyd Keith Norris, Robert Norris, Jack Norris, and Edward Norris; and his sister, Donna Norris. Memorial contributions may be made in Floyds name Disabled American Veterans or Montelores Catholic Communities.
