FLOYD LYLE McNUTT Memorial services for longtime Cortez resident Floyd Lyle McNutt will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, March 5 at the Ertel Memorial Chapel. Floyd was born at Stonington, Colo. on Dec. 22, 1933 the son of Gordon and Bonnie T. (Rourke) McNutt. He passed away at Southwest Memorial Hospital on Sunday, February 29, 2004. Floyd was 70 years old. A farmer and rancher by trade, Floyd spent numerous years working his own farm. In his spare time he enjoyed rebuilding and collecting old cars. His family remembers that he was good at fixing things and that he liked using his hands to work with wood. Floyd liked to hunt and fish and was a good dancer. Surviving Floyd are his children, Mitzi Wallace and husband, Tim of Cortez, Vicki Wallace and husband, Steve of Dolores, and Toni Lederman and husband, Alan of Edwards Air Force Base, Calif.; seven grandchildren; and his brother, Edgar McNutt and wife, Gayle of Cortez. Preceding Floyd in death were his parents and his wife, Billie (Loader) McNutt. Memorial contributions can be made in memory of Floyd McNutt with either branch of the Dolores State Bank.
