FLOSSIE ALINE DICKEN Funeral services for Flossie Aline Dicken a lifelong resident of Dove Creek will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, August 9 at the Dove Creek Seventh Day Adventist Church. Visitation will be held at the church prior to the service beginning at 2 p.m. Flossie was born the daughter of Floyd Rex and Velma Amelia (Kelly) Kuykendall on March 14, 1928 in Durango, Colo. She passed away at Southwest Memorial Hospital on Monday, August 3, 2015 at the age of 87. Flossie married Clevelan Cameron Dicken in Cortez on February 3, 1955. The couple shared 59 years of married before Cleve's death last year. Flossie loved the life of a homemaker, sewing, cooking, crocheting and tending the garden. She was also a great farmer's wife helping with the farming chores. Her favorite was driving the tractor. Flossie was a member of the Dove Creek Chapter of Extension Homemaker's Club and the Dove Creek Seventh Day Adventist Church. Surviving Flossie are her daughter, Sandra Knight and husband, Steve of Dove Creek; son, Edward Dicken and wife, Araceli also of Dove Creek,; four grandchildren, Isreal Knight and wife, Maria, Stephanie Knight, Arelli Watson and husband, Tobias, and Kelli Knight; by a brother, Johnny A. Kuykendall of Cortez; her sister, Esther Summers of Proto, Okla.; and numerous nieces and nephews. Flossie was preceded in death by her husband, Cleve Dicken; her parents, Floyd and Velma Kuykendall; and her siblings, Opal Redshaw, Stanley Kuykendall and Barbara Kuykendall.
