FELTON V. WATKINS Funeral services for Felton V. Watkins, longtime area resident, will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 2 at the Ertel Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow at the Dove Creek Cemetery. Jeff Foster of the Cortez Church of Christ will officiate. Visitation has been set for Friday afternoon at the Ertel Chapel from 3 to 5 p.m. Felton was born at Boyd, Oklahoma on April 1, 1914 to Andrew Clarence “A.C.” and Fannie Jane (Holiday) Watkins. He passed away at St. Mary’s Hospital in Grand Junction, Colorado on Tuesday, March 29, 2005. He was 90 years old. Surviving Felton are his beloved wife, Opal (Wheat) Watkins of Cortez; his children, Barbara Lee Citak and husband, Jack of Las Vegas, Nev. and Harold Dean Polf of Las Vegas, Nev.; his niece, Patsy Knuckles and husband, Dean of Dove Creek; nine grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and three great great grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Geneva Watkins and Mary Watkins both of Dove Creek; and numerous other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Preceding Felton in death were his parents; a son, L.G. Polf; and his nine sisters and brothers, Bessie and Myrna Watkins as infants, Tola Trollinger, Earl Watkins, Rosa Cory, Lois Sword, Oscar Watkins, Virgil Watkins, and Ernest Watkins.
