Eva Mary Jones

EVA MARY JONES Eva Mary Jones was born January 5, 1919 in Marvel, Colo. the daughter of Bill and Lucy (Johnson) Pryor. She passed away at Southwest Memorial Hospital on Saturday, April 20, 2013 at the age of 94. On February 7, 1948, Eva married the love of her life, Bobby Eugene Jones. They celebrated 65 years of marriage this year. To this union were born two sons, Robert and William. Eva served in the Army as First Lieutenant under General Patton. She was stationed seven miles from Paris. After serving in the Army, Eva worked as a nurse for Mercy Medical Center for 20 years and also was the Head Intensive Care Unit Nurse at Southwest Memorial Hospital for 20 years. She retired in 1984. Eva was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and in her free time enjoyed gardening and fishing. Her family was of upmost importance to her and she enjoyed time spent with them. Surviving Eva are her husband, Bobby Jones of Dolores; son, Robert E. Jones and wife, Donna of Durango; granddaughter, Teri Jones McKinney of Lee Summit, Mo.; and great-granddaughter, Alix McKinney of Lee Summit, Mo. Eva was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Lucy Pryor; her son, William E. Jones; and by her grandson, Gary E. Jones. Cremation has taken place and services will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Legion Post #28, c/o Robert E. Jones, 878 E. 2nd Ave., Durango, Colo. 81301. All funds will go to the American Legion Children's Home.
