EVA KNUCKLES Funeral services for longtime Dove Creek resident Eva Knuckles will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, February 29 at the Dove Creek First Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Peel Cemetery. Pastor Mark Coffey will officiate. Visitation has been set for Tuesday evening from 5 to 7 p.m. at Ertel Memorial Chapel. Eva was born March 10, 1920 in Reynolds County, Mo. the daughter of Riley Lanoah and Cordelia Mariah (Johnson) Wilson. She passed away on Saturday, February 25, 2012 at Mercy Regional Medical Center at the age of 91. Eva married Doyle Lyndell Knuckles on April 14, 1938. The couple farmed together for many years. In her free time, Eva enjoyed quilting, crocheting, sewing and fishing. She was a wonderful baker, her biscuits and chocolate gravy could not be beat. Surviving Eva are her children, Mary L. Geisinger and husband, Harry of Cortez, Frankie D. Knuckles and wife, Arveta of Dove Creek, Ronny D. Knuckles and wife, Summer of Delta, Colo., and Patricia D. Ives and husband, Gary of Cortez; 19 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and numerous great-great-grandchildren. Eva was preceded in death by her parents; by her husband of 63 years, Doyle Knuckles; by her children, William "Tommy" Knuckles and Cordia Jane Knuckles; by her grandson, Clark Green; by her great-granddaughter, Stephanie Green; and by seven sisters and four brothers. Memorial contributions may be made in Eva Knuckles' name to the Dove Creek Ambulance Fund.
