EULA HOLADAY Funeral services for longtime Cortez resident Eula Holaday will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, August 19 at Ertel Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow at Lebanon Cemetery. Eula was born on February 10, 1921 in Clay Springs, Ariz. the daughter of Joseph Wilkins and Jennie McFern (McCleve) Holyoak. She passed away on Saturday, August 15, 2009 at her residence at the age of 88. On December 22, 1945, Eula married Carl Delbert Holaday in Clay Springs, Ariz. Eula was an active member in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She took part in the Keen-Age Kitchen Band playing the washboard. Eula also belonged to the Senior Citizens Golden Age 55 Club and the Four Corners Senior Travelers. In her free time, Eula loved to crochet, sew, garden and dance. She loved her family dearly, and time spent with her grandchildren brought Eula much happiness. Eula is survived by her children, Johnny Holaday and wife, Roxy of Cortez, Vaniece Johnson of Cortez, and Gary Marvin Holaday and wife, Mary of Dolores; and her eight grandchildren, Victory Johnson, Von Johnson, Melinda Moore and husband, Kenny, Carl Holaday and wife Sandy, Racheal Brackett and husband, Jeff, Lisa Holaday, Trevor Holaday, and Tylor Holaday. Eula also leaves behind seven great-grandchildren, Bryndon Holaday, Logan and Mia Moore, Tiffany and David Holaday, Erich Johnson, and Tony Johnson and her siblings, Cleve Holyoak of Sierra Vista, Ariz., and Vonda Hancock of Grants Pass, Ore. Eula was preceded in death by her parents; by her husband, Carl D. Holaday; her siblings, Virgil Holyoak, Millard Holyoak, Van Holyoak, and Scott Holyoak; and her great-grandchild, Angel Gail Holaday. Memorial contributions may be made in Eula's memory to the charity of choice.
