EUGENIA PEARL FOSNOT Graveside services for lifelong area resident Eugenia Pearl Fosnot will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, August 29 at Cortez Cemetery. Chaplain Marvin Graves will officiate. Visitation has been scheduled for Friday morning from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at Ertel Memorial Chapel. Eugenia was born on October 6, 1911 in Greenleaf, Kan. the daughter of Eugene Orval and Grace Pearl (Finley) Johnson. She passed away on Sunday, August 24, 2008 at Vista Grande Inn at the age of 96. Eugenia and her family came from Kansas to the Dolores area by train in 1917. On her 22nd birthday, Eugenia married Clifton Herschel Fosnot in Cortez. Eugenia was a wonderful cook. She enjoyed gardening, raising beautiful flowers, sewing and crocheting. Surviving Eugenia are her children, Delbert Fosnot and wife, Sandy of Cahone, Clifton Fosnot and wife, Dee of Cahone, and Arveta Knuckles and husband, Frankie of Dove Creek; 10 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and her siblings, Helen Guynes and husband, Jess of Dove Creek, and Eugene Johnson of Cortez. Eugenia was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Clifton Fosnot; and her siblings, Evelyn Johnson, Orval Johnson, and Myrtle Johnson.
