ESTHER MARIE GOODHUE Memorial services for Cortez resident Esther Marie Goodhue will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, June 18 at the Cortez Christian Church on East Empire Street. John 14:2 "In My House there are many mansions: If it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you." Esther Marie Goodhue left this life on Saturday, June 14, 2008 at 12:30 p.m. Esther came into this world on November 15, 1932 in Hettinger, N.D. where she lived on a farm for most of her life with her parents, John and Inez Goodhue, her brother, Norman Goodhue and his wife, Jean. Esther loved to embroider and was always making gifts for someone. She adored children and did a considerable amount of babysitting. She attended church regularly where there was never a lack of young souls that were blessed by her kind and loving heart. Esther had a passion for life and though she grew up with many handicaps, she was a happy and loving person. Those left to celebrate her life are her sister-in-law, Jean Goodhue; her nephew, Adrian Goodhue and wife, Cheri; her great-nephew, John Goodhue and wife, Susan and their daughter, Kirsten; her nephew, Jeff Goodhue, her niece, Lynne Gilge and husband, David; her great niece, Michelle Cate and daughter, Kelsey; her great-nephew, Gregg Gilge and wife, Heather, and their children, Carter, Ryley, and Spencer. In addition she leaves behind her niece, Terri Likes and husband, Bob; her great-niece, Kim Rule and husband, Keith, and their children, Randia and Chase; her great-nephew, Troy Fuhrman and wife, Dianne, and their son, Michael; and her nephew, Delvin Fuhrman and wife, Jo. She was preceded in death by her father, John Goodhue; her mother, Inez Goodhue; as well as her brother, Norman Goodhue. Memorial contributions may be made in Esther's name to the Cortez Christian Church to assist the Gideon's Bible Fund. John 14:3 "And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you unto Myself; that where I am, there you may be also."
